Our monthly meetings,
usually attended by 10-20 members, are held
the second weekend of each month at
gardening-based businesses in the area, or at
member's homes. Most meetings are at 2 pm on
Sunday afternoon, though occasionally we meet
on Saturday or at another time.
Programs typically
consist of live presentations or
demonstrations by a local gardening
professional or Master Gardener, with
occasional videotaped gardening programs and
slide presentations.
Plant raffles and an
annual yard and plant sale help to fund
community projects. We welcome all who enjoy
the love of gardening and want to establish
or improve their own personal Eden.
RGC to Learn About Texas Natives at our April Meeting
The Rainbow Garden Club is fortunate to have Jane Bartosiewicz, Dallas County Master Gardener, as our guest speaker at our April meeting. Jane will give a program on one of her favorite topics which is “Native Plants for Texas”. Using plants that are adapted for our Texas soils and growing conditions can help you to achieve better results with less effort in your garden. You can read the article in our April 2008 newsletter for more benefits on the use of Texas Native Plants in your garden! The meeting will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 2:00 pm. Tom Forsyth, club president and his partner, Glen Hawkins, will host the meeting at their Oak Cliff home which is located at 2115 Siesta Drive, Dallas, TX 75224. The wisterias are just blooming now so hopefully there will be some blooms left to enjoy by April 13!
